Comparison of Root Coverage by the Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft With and Without Root Biomodification: A Comprehensive Clinical Study

چکیده

Background: Being an autologous graft, a subepithelial connective tissue (SECT) graft shows more predictable root coverage better than other techniques. Hence, it is most likely to be widely used for recession treatment. During planing, smear layer forms on the surface that cannot removed by water or saline rinsing. To remove this layer, biomodification agents are used. The present study was conducted assess efficacy of SECT with and without biomodification. Methods: This included 20 patients no gender predilection, age range 24-36 years mean 27.6 ± 4.24 years. chosen facilitated acquisition data in relatively homogeneous population, minimizing confounding effects factors such as aging-related changes early-onset periodontal issues. All 40 sites were treated coronally advanced flap. Root conditioning controls done distilled tested using 24% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) gel (Maquira; STM Meditech, Kerala). At baseline at one, three, six months postoperatively, pocket depth (PD) clinical attachment levels (CALs) assessed four UNC-15 probe, from gingival margin cementoenamel junction (CEJ), vertical assessed. Results: For buccal surface, CALs reduced significantly (p < 0.001). Following EDTA, difference seen CAL control test group either buccally interproximally p-value greater 0.05. PD, following conditioning, significant change observed interproximal region > 0.05). less 0.001 97.5%. between two groups statistically non-significant decreased 16.6 2.8 0.45 0.4 months, which intergroup non-statistical Conclusion: concludes use can improve CAL, area, both We conclude there decrease probing grafting

Root coverage using the coronally positioned flap with or without a subepithelial connective tissue graft.

BACKGROUND Various surgical techniques have been proposed for treating gingival recession. This randomized clinical trial compared the coronally positioned flap (CPF) alone or in conjunction with a subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) in the treatment of gingival recession. METHODS Eleven non-smoking subjects with bilateral and comparable Miller Class I recession defects were selected...

The subepithelial connective tissue graft: part II. Histologic healing and clinical root coverage.

Periodontal plastic surgical techniques have evolved to meet the demands of today's dental patient. Free gingival grafts (FGGs), pedicle flaps, subepithelial connective tissue grafts (SCTGs), acellular dermal matrix (ADM) grafts, and guided tissue regeneration (GTR) have all been used to cover denuded root surfaces. FGGs have demonstrated inconsistent results. Pedicle flaps have provided consis...
